Fans worldwide chooses B1A4 as ‘Super Rookies for 2012′

B1A4 is creating a stir because netizens abroad chose B1A4 as 2012 Best K Pop Stars.

In a special New Year episode of Wave K, a popularity vote Super Rookie 2012 that 270,000 fans participated was held, and B1A4 took first place.

Wave K is a K pop program that Arirang TV and OBS co-produced, and singer Brian and Lee Ru emcee the show.

Wave K held a popularity poll with Korea.com for two weeks starting from December 15th to 26th. The netizens worldwide chose the ‘Most Noteworthy Super Rookies in 2012.’

The candidates were B1A4, LED Apple, M.I.B, My Name, Rania, Brave Girls, C-Real, and Wind Hold Venus.

269,970 people from 114 countries voted for the poll that was held on Koreadotcom’s English site, Twitter, Facebook and other SNS.

B1A4 took first place by a narrow margin of 2% with 87,488 votes(32.4%) while My Name received 81,602 votes(30.2%). LED Apple who began to narrow the gap with first place from the middle of the vote, ranked third place with 52,726 votes(29.5%).

The narrow margin of first and second place was due to Malaysian fans. Malaysian fans gave 17,010 votes to B1A4 and gave 7,150 votes to My Name, playing a crucial role in dividing first and second place.

Gong Tae Hee producer revealed, “B1A4 is an amazing rookie group that receives support by many fans worldwide since their debut. My Name who took second place is another noteworthy team in 2012. Their group dance and singing are excellent.”

B1A4’s leader Jinyoung says, “I want to thank all the fans worldwide for supporting us. We’ll make it up to you by performing more actively next year.”

Wave K’s special episode Super Rookie 2012 will air twice on January 1, 2012, and on January 8 at 5:00 p.m on OBS and will air on January 3rd, 10th at 2:00 p.m on Arirang TV.
