Kim Hyun Joong is receiving an explosive response from Japan.
Universal Music, the company that represents Kim’s Japanese albums, says, “We started distributing Kim’s songs on January 18 as mobile ringtone prior to his official Japanese debut single release on January 25.”
The title song “Kiss Kiss” from Kim’s single album ranked first on the Recochoku mobile ringtone daily chart after only one day of its release. This is the first time a Korean male solo artist has ranked first.
His other songs, including “Lucky Guy,” “U,” and “Breakdown” also entered the top 20 list and received a lot of attention.
Kim is currently preparing to appear on Japanese TV Asahi’s music program Music Station, which will air live on January 27.
Prior to Kim’s debut single release, appearing on a popular terrestrial music program was very rare, even in music industry. His fans from both Korea and Japan are eagerly anticipating Kim’s performance.
Kim will release his Japanese debut single on January 25 and he will hold the ‘Premium Live 2012′ on February 5 in Yokohama to celebrate his album release.
