JYJ’s Kim Jun Su has gained recognition for his popularity, which guarantees that all the tickets to his musicals and concerts sell out. Recently, the popular booking website for concerts and musicals, Interpark, held the 8th Golden Ticket Awards, and Kim received two awards: the Musical Actor Award and the Domestic Concert Musician Award.
Previously, the star has received the Best Rookie Award and the Best Actor Award since his musical debut in 2009. The tickets for all seats at the Sejong Cultural Center were sold out for his debut musical Mozart. In addition, his second play, Tears of Heaven, showed similar “ticket power”: out of 20 performance, 17 were standing room only.
For his third gig, Elizabeth, in 2012, Kim came through as usual with his reliable acting and singing ability as he played his transcendent character, Death. The tickets for all 32 performances were sold out in just ten minutes after the sales began. Moreover, all 21,000 seats for the 2012 Xia Ballad & Musical Concert with Orchestra, held at the end of 2012 also sold out immediately after the ticket sales opened.
When Kim received the Interpark awards, he said, “I received tremendous love last year. I want to show my gratitude for all the fans who have encouraged me generously every time I appear on stage. I believe the best way to pay back your love for my performances and songs is to give the best performances I can.”
