BIGBANG, the popular group, is setting out for helping the world children through UNICEF.
BIGBANG expressed their intention to donate some of the profits from the world tour they are having from last March to coming December, going around Europe, the Americas and Asia, to UNICEF Korea Committee.
YG Entertainment Representitive Yang Min-Seok and UNICEF Korean Committee Secretary General Ryu Jong-Soo had an agreement ceremony at UNICEF Korea Committee office building on last 14th and signed on the agreement document saying that part of profits from ’BigBang Alive Tour 2012′ would be donated as UNICEF fund.
The fund that will be raised from the ticket sales of Alive Tour 2012 would be used for vaccination project of UNICEF’s children support projects. From this fund, UNICEF would be able to give measles vaccination for 600 000 children. This means that one ticket buyer would be saving one African child.
Meanwhile, UNICEF and YG Entertainment are planning to raise fund through selling special merchandise, which they would produce jointly, at the concert site as well.
BIGBANG’s leader G-Dragon said, “We decided to sponsor UNICEF because we wanted to return the love we received globally, as we received much love from many countries through the world.” and “I hope the raised fund would be used in children’s vaccination, and many children would be able to grow up healthily without getting a disease.”
