Big Bang’s G-Dragon receives the highest royalties of all idol singers

The ranking of royalties of such idol group members as Big Bang’s G-Dragon, Kang Ta, and B2ST’s Jun Hyung has recently been released.

In the episode of SBS TV’s Good Morning that aired on June 4, the great amount of royalties some idol singers receive surprised the viewers.

According to the ranking, Big Bang’s G-Dragon receives the highest royalties. G-Dragon once attracted attention by saying, “The amount of royalties that I get is huge,” in the episode of SBS TV’s Go Show that aired in April. He receives over a billion won as royalties in a year.

Kang Ta held the second rank. Singer and actor Lee Ji Hoon, well-known as a best friend of Kang Ta’s, talked about Kang Ta’s nickname “Money King” in the episode of KBS 2TV’s Happy Together 3 that aired on May 31. Lee said, “Kang Ta pays for people almost all the time. His nickname is Money King. He receives a lot of money every month because he’s made a lot of songs for several years.”

Kang Ta has registered over 100 songs in Korea Music Copyright Association and is receiving at least five hundred million every year.

B2ST’s Jun Hyung ranked third. In the episode, He was asked if he received a lot of royalties and said, “It’s more than I can take.” In the episode of MBC TV’s Golden Fishery-Radio Star that aired in July 2011, he said his income is the highest of all B2ST members because of the royalties.

People responded: “They’re so talented. I envy them,” “It’s an interesting ranking,” “I guess the idol members who can compose and arrange songs make a lot of money.”
