The whopping revenue earned by SNSD is causing a sensation.
According to the e-public disclosure made by the Korean Financial Supervisory Service on March 17, SM Entertainment unveiled the revenue of the top 5 groups through its prospectus on March. The top 5 were selected, based on the yield each group earned for the past three years.
SNSD, who are dominant at the forefront of Hallyu, ranked no. 1 with the highest yield.
The formidable nine girls perched at the no. 1 by earning whopping 21,737,000,000 won for the first three quarters of last year. What’s more, this doesn’t count in earnings by spinoff projects, so the actual amount is expected to be much larger than this.
Chasing after the lucrative girls, Super Junior ranked no. 2 with the yield of 13,831,000,000 won, followed by TVXQ, SHINee, and f(X).
Netizens responded: “That’s a staggering amount.” “Their revenue is comparable to that of a small corporation.” “SNSD rules forever.”
