If Kim Tae Woo debuts as an ‘idol’ singer now, would he be successful?

Entertainment planner Hong Seung Sung honestly says that Kim Tae Woo would not have been as successful if he debuted as an “idol” singer now.

In the special feature of JTBC’s Made In You that aired on December 3 at 10:10 p.m., Hong Seung Sung, Kim Hyung Suk, Kim Tae Woo, Ok Ju Hyun, and Brave Brothers who are also known as “the masters of ‘idols’” appeared.

Kim Tae Woo said, “I want to apply for Made In You. When I heard that the winner gets 1 billion won, I became strongly motivated. I want to get younger again.”

Hong Seung Son, who has been listening to him, said, “I think Kim Tae Woo was very lucky to debut in the past: it was the perfect timing. I bet he wouldn’t be this successful if he debuted as an ‘idol’ singer today. You can never debut as an ‘idol’ singer solely with singing talent. People ask for many other talents from them. Singing skills are the basic requirement while dancing and acting talents, as well as good-looks are needed to become an ‘idol’ singer.”

Kim replied in agreement, “I think you are right. I often become surprised to see how many things the ‘idols’ are able to do these days.”

Made In You is a project program which discovers and nurtures a talented singer to an “idol” star, rewarding him or her 1 million dollar, the greatest amount of money that an auditioning program has ever proposed.
