Even before his official debut performance, the rookie singer Jjun is receiving a lot of attention around the world.
On June 28, Jjun said in an interview with TV Report, “Recently, I experienced the high status of K-pop. I posted a video clip of myself practicing on YouTube, and many fans from different countries responded enthusiastically to it. I’ve never had an official debut performance yet, so such reactions just awed me.”
The video clip was viewed more than 20,000 times. His name ranked in the top ten on a Chinese music video chart, and some countries already have fan clubs for him, which continuously ask his agency to release his album.
A staff member at Jjun’s agency said, “There are quite a number of fan clubs in countries like Indonesia, Rumania, Mexico, China, Taiwan, and France. We were surprised at hearing the news because they were all from different continents. Also, the company received several calls from these fan clubs asking when Jjun will start fan club activities. We definitely experienced K-pop fever.”
With amazement, Jjune added, “It felt very strange when some fan club members tweeted me, ‘I’ll always cheer for you,’ in many different languages. What surprises me even more is the medium of communication between them.”
After spending 11 years as a trainee, he finally released his debut album on June 14. Brave Brother, who wrote songs for Son Dam Bi and Sistar and produced many other hit songs, composed and produced songs for him. Moreover, War of Stars and Electroboyz, which also known as part of the Brave Brother Division, were featured on his album.
In the past, Jjun had also worked as a dancer, and now he is ready to begin his official activities promoting the album with the title track “Just Cry” in his upcoming debut performance.
