Kara and Jay Park Rocked The MTV World Stage Live 2012!

KARA and Jay Park performed alongside global superstar Justin Bieber and Malaysian singer-songwriter Mizz Nina at the Sunway Lagoon surf beach for MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia 2012 last night. Amongst 16,000 attendees were enthusiastic Kamilias and Jaywalkers.

Girl group .Kara was back in full force with member Han Seung Yeon who missed the earlier Singapore showcase as she was hospitalised Kamilias in the audience did not only get to see the girl group perform for the first time in Malaysia, they were the first to see KARA perform ‘Let It Go’ internationally. The girls did not disappoint with their performances, and even introduced themselves in English. Member Nicole spoke in English of how excited they were to be in Malaysia.

Many of KARA’s top hits were seen: turning it up first with ‘Step’, followed by ‘Jumping’, ‘Lupin’ and ‘Honey’. Before finishing up with ‘Mister’, they performed the alluring ‘Let It Go’. Also not missing something most Korean artists do when they perform overseas – the girls thanked the crowd in Bahasa Malaysia before passing the stage to Mizz Nina.

The closing act belonged to Jay Park, who rocked the stage with AOM and 1llionaire. He performed a mix of English and Korean songs, keeping the crowd energy high with hits like ‘Abandoned’ and a Korean version of ‘Know Your Name’. Before performing a medley of ‘Nothing On You’ and ‘Girlfriend’, he mesmerized the crowd with his ballad ‘Carefree’. Being the only artist to deliver a large amount of songs, he also grace performed ‘I Got Your Back’ along with ‘Star’.

His sexy stage – where Jay himself said was strictly for the ladies – was ‘Turn Off Your Phone’ and ‘Do What We Do’. A well-prepared dance number featuring Far East Movement’s Dirty Bass was performed before he ended the evening with a spectacular rendition of ‘Body2Body’.
For fans who did not get to attend the event, fret not! Shot in High-Definition, MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2012 will be produced into a 2-hour TV show premiering on MTV SEA channel. An hour-long version will also be broadcast later in the year via MTV’s global network of more than 60 channels in over 150 territories, reaching over 600 million households.
