Shinhwa tops the online charts with “Venus”

Shinhwa’s 10th album The Return was released on March 23. It’s Shinhwa’s first album released in four years.

As the title songs “Venus” and “Hurts” were released on such online music sites as Mnet.com, Melon, Bugs Music, Soribada, and Olleh Music, it immediately topped the real-time charts, receiving a great number of hits.

“Venus” is written by Lee Min Woo and composed by Andrew Jackson, who worked with Britney Spears and Leona Lewis. As a pop-electro dance song, it’s characterized by powerful choreography and a strong beat.

“Hurts” is a song in which Eric played a great role as a lyric writer and a vocal director. As a 8-bit pop ballad genre, in which Frankie J participated, Shinhwa members’ delicate voices and Eric’s rap characterize the song.

Including the dance song “Venus” and the ballad song “Hurts,” Shinhwa’s 10th album consists of total 11 songs, including Brit-pop, Pop ballad, and Urban R&B genres.

A spokesperson for Shinhwa said, “You’ll be able to see the musical growth of Shinhwa, achieved for last 14 years. Because we invested two billion won to the 10th album, music video, and concerts to increase their qualities, you’ll be able to enjoy the album both acoustically and visually.”

Shinhwa are holding a comeback concert, titled The Return, at the Gymnastics Stadium at Olympic Park on March 24 and 25.
