SNSD received Best Album of the Year at MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2012 (MTV VMAJ), one of the most renowned music awards in Japan.
SNSD received Best Album of the Year at MTV VMAJ 2012, which took place at Makuhari Messe Event Hall in Chiba, for their first Japanese album, Girls’ Generation, which made a big hit in Japan last year. It proved SNSD’s high popularity in Japan once again.
However, SNSD couldn’t attend the awards because of their busy schedule.
At the awards, other Korean idol groups also received several awards.
2NE1 received Best New Artist Video for “I’m the Best.”
2PM received Best Group Video for “I’m Your Man.”
2NE1 and 2PM attended the awards and gave special performances.
After School, who were featured in Amuro Namie’s “Make It Happen,” received Best Collaboration Video.
