Super Junior is ‘Sexy, Free, and Single’!

The long wait has come to an end as  Super Junior finally released their much-awaited sixth album, ‘Sexy, Free & Single‘.

Released online on July 1st (KST) – the same day as the group’s leader Leeteuk’s birthday – the album contains 10 tracks of various genres which include R&B, dance, and ballad. The variety of songs showcases the group’s immense talent and ability to cover almost any music genre.

The title track “Sexy, Free & Single” incorporates R&B and soulful house music; the song is quite easy to listen to, and the melody very pleasing to the ears. The fun lyrics tell the success stories of sexy, free, and single men.

‘Gulliver‘, is composed by Eunhyuk, and highlights the raps of Leeteuk, Shindong, Eunhyuk, and Donghae, and the charismatic vocals of Ryeowook. The song’s lyrics makes reference to the classic story ‘Gulliver’s Travels‘ and how it compares to Super Junior’s wit and charm.

On the other hand, “Someday” is a remake of Lee Sang Eun‘s original and showcases the vocal abilities of the group.

“Now“, with  its refreshing sound and melody, and lyrics that speak of travelling and going to the beach seemed like an ode to the summer season. Meanwhile “Rockstar” is a track with an electronica/hiphop vibe that shows off the group’s edgier, funkier side

As revealed previously, the album includes a special track entitled, ‘From U‘, – a medium tempo R&B track which the group dedicates to their fanclub, the Ever Lasting Friends (ELF).  This song, along with the title track, shall be performed by Super Junior on their comeback stage.

Other songs included in the album are “Bittersweet“, which features the emotional vocals of Yesung, Sungmin, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun; “Papillon“, an electronic dance track that is guaranteed to uplift tired and disheartened spirits; “Lingering“, a touching ballad; and “Breakup Day“.

‘Sexy, Free, and Single’ is now ready for digital download, and will be available in stores on July 4.
