Jang Dong Gun is invited to Cannes for Dangerous Liaisons

Actor Jang Dong Gun has been invited to Cannes for his film Dangerous Liaisons (directed by Heo Jin Ho). However, it’s unclear if he can visit Cannes.

On April 24, it was reported that movie Dangerous Liaisons was invited to Director’s Fortnight of the 65th Cannes International Film Festival, which will start to be held from May 16. As it stars Jang, many people wondered if he would attend the festival.

Dangerous Liaisons is a film version of the French author Choderlos de Laclos’s novel published in 1782, starring Jang and Zhang Ziyi.

As Dangerous Liaisons is invited to the Cannes International Film Festival, Jang got a chance to walk on the red carpet. However, it’s currently not easy for him to visit Cannes because he has a shooting schedule for SBS TV’s drama series A Gentleman’s Dignity.

On April 24, a spokesperson for Jang said, “Jang Dong Gun is currently shooting the drama series A Gentleman’s Dignity, so we’re not sure if he can attend the film festival.”

Jang once visited Cannes for a production report conference of his film My Way. However, it’s the first time for him to be officially invited to Cannes.
