Finishing Big Bang’s tour of Japan in June, Seungri is currently working there individually.
V.I From Big Bang, which aired for the first time on August 2 at 10:00 p.m., was the first show hosted by Seungri. The official title of the show will be decided later on the basis of viewers’ suggestions.
Fuji TV’s Sakigake! Ongaku Banzuke Eight is a popular Japanese music show. Seungri once appeared on the show as a special host and interviewed Oguri Shun (the lead in one of Fuji TV’s drama series), EXILE’s Akira, and Takei Emi. Seungri did a good job as a special host in that episode of the show and got invited again.
YG Entertainment, Seungri’s agency, says, “Because of Seungri’s enthusiastic attitude, many people in the Japanese broadcasting industry think of him favorably. Seungri is also studying Japanese hard, writing diaries in Japanese everyday on Big Bang’s mobile fan club site, Big Bang ☆ World. His Japanese has improved a lot that it won’t be awkward even if he becomes a regular host of the music show now.”
Seungri also appeared on Yomiuri TV’s popular variety show Yoshimoto Jounetsu Comedy. He received many favorable reviews for his choreography of “Fantastic Baby” with some of popular Japanese comedians.
It’s been only a month since he started appearing on Japanese TV channels; however, he’s already getting many favorable reviews from Japanese viewers and also getting many offers to appear on TV shows from several Japanese TV channels.
Along with his individual schedule in Japan, Seungri will also participate in Big Bang’s world tour, Galaxy Tour Alive 2012, until the end of this year.
