Jung Gyu Woon takes on Dr. Champ

Seoul, Korea – Actor Jung Gyu Woon has been cast as a male lead in SBS’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday series Dr. Champ.

Jung’s agency announced on the 12th that Jung Gyu Woon will play a national team judo athlete Park Ji Hun who is beset by injury in this drama series, which is set at the Taereung Korea National Training Center.

The story line of Dr. Champ incorporates elements of sports and sports medicine as well as friendship and love, conflict and reconciliation.

Jung Gyu Woon said, “I need to prepare a lot because judo plays a much bigger part in this series than in the previous one. I’m really looking forward to this because I really like sports and enjoy participating in sports.”

Dr. Champ will begin its run in October taking over the time slot of I Am Legend, which is scheduled to to take over that spot when the current series Coffee House when it ends.
