Roy Kim (real name Kim Sang Woo), who attracted viewers’ most attention with his impressive resume and handsome look in the first episode of M.net’s Super Star K 4, turns out to be a cousin of the girl group Rainbow’s Yoon Hye.
On August 17, Super Star K 4 aired first episode in which Roy Kim appeared and introduced himself to be the son of a large company in Korea and about to enter Georgetown University.
Right after the broadcast, Rainbow’s Yoon Hye tweeted, “My cousin auditioned for Super Star K 4. Roy Kim. It’s good to see him on TV after a while since he studied abroad. Sang Woo grew up a lot. Fighting!”
When the judge Lee Seung Chul asked him, “You have wonderful career so far. It seems good for you to study, but why do you want to do music?” Kim answered, “I love studying, but my passion for music never dies. My family is against it, but I’m here today because I didn’t want to give up on music.”
Kim sang American and Korean pop songs playing the guitar but failed to move on to the next level; however, judge Lee Ha Neul used the Super Pass to let him pass, building expectations on his further performances.
