Actress Song Hye Kyo has provided Korean brochures to Yoon Bong Gil Memorial Hall in Shanghai with Seo Kyung Deok, a professor at Sungshin Women’s University.
On April 27, professor Seo reported, “Ten thousand copies of a Korean brochure, newly designed to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the movement started by Yoon Bong Gil, will be provided to Yoon Bong Gil Memorial Hall in Shanghai.”
The brochure contains the chronological table of the Korean independence movement and information about Yoon Bong Gil Memorial Hall, the Provisional Government of Korea in Shanghai, the accommodations of the Provisional Government of Korea in Ka Heung, and the refuge of Kim Goo, along with related pictures.
A spokesperson for Song says, “As Song Hye Kyo is popular in China and Taiwan, she knows how important it is to provide guidebooks in Korean in overseas countries. This is how she decided to provide the Korean brochures to Yoon Bong Gil Memorial Hall in Shanghai.”
Song and Seo also provided Korean brochures to the Provisional Government of Korea in Shanghai on April 13.
Professor Seo said, “To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and China, we also included Chinese along with Korean in the brochures so that the Chinese can easily see the spirit of Yoon Bong Gil. Thanks to the Independence Hall, we were able to publish the brochures.”
Seo also said, “Conditions of the historic sites related to the anti-Japanese movement in foreign countries are not very good. However, it’s important to visit and pay more attention to these sites in order to protect them.”
Song and Seo will continue to provide Korean brochures to world-renowned museums, art museums, and Korean historic sites in foreign countries.
