Scent of a Woman star rules Asia

Actor Lee Dong Wook confirms his popularity as one of Asia’s greatest heartthrobs.

On December 5, Lee’s agency stated, “Since series starring Lee, including Scent of a Woman, were broadcast, fans from all over the globe have been sending presents and inquires.

Lee, who was already a star with My Girl, confirmed his popularity by winning the Grand Prize in the 2011 Korea-Japan Popular Culture Awards and Best Actor in Asia in the 2011 Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards.

Recently, he has achieved stardom in Singapore and Malaysia after finishing a successful promotion following the airing of Scent of a Woman(Read the exclusive interview from Singapore.)

A source from SBS says, “Since Scent of Woman aired, the romantic division manager, Kang Ji Wook (played by Lee Dong Wook), is gaining sensational popularity. Outlets in many countries are requesting that he do a promotion for them.”

Lee’s agency says they are totally surprised with his huge popularity. The agency also say, “We appreciate all the love and support from fans overseas. We are planning to have a fan meeting in the near future.”

Currently, Lee is appearing in the KBS series Wild Romance as an ill-tempered baseball player and is receiving rave reviews for his comic acting.
