With fashion to always dominate the preference of people, it is not surprising when one starts to focus and build its business paveway through this channel.
Seoul City and Fashion SBA plans to promote ’2011 Seoul’s 10 Soul’, an ambitious global fashion brand project garnering much attention from the world fashion industry. Singapore, recently emerging as a new fashion capital, will be the first venue for this project, and then equally colorful events will also be held in Paris, the mecca of world fashion, in collaboration with many local fashion program providers.
Cat Ong, director of Blueprint in Singapore Asian Fashion Exchange, said, ” I greatly look forward to seeing the fashion shows of ‘Seoul’s 10 Soul’, which will feature the works of Seoul Fashion Week designers. Asian designers have recently made dominant media issues throughout the world and now I hope to see a new world-class designer being born through this year’s Asian Fashion Exchange.”
The project is about the launch and a platform to globalize Korean fashion brands. Seoul`s 10 Soul’, a Global Fashion Brand Project of Seoul, Starts Up! – Korea’s 10 Most-Acclaimed Designers and Brands Selected for Seoul’s 10 Soul – Seoul Launches Global PR Promotions through World Respected Fashion Events in Asia and Europe – ‘Seoul`s 10 Soul Night’ Marks Beginning of Asia Fashion Exchange (Singapore Fashion Week) on March 20.
Later in the year, the ten designers for ‘Seoul’s 10 Soul’ will have opportunities to participate in the men’s or women’s shows of ‘TRANOI’, a world-respected trade show held in Paris.
Seoul’s 10 Soul designers’ cruise collections were featured at the last official AFX event, a trunk show for which each designer created three cruise-inspired garments. The event was held May 20 at Ion Sky, a skyscraper that overlooks Singapore’s dazzling skyline.

Here are the 10 chosen designers from menswear and womenswear and their brand philosophy respectively:
ALANI : ALANI is a designer brand that targets the men in their 40s who desire the high-fashion. The motto of “Less is more” from the Bauhouse in Germany in the 1970s as the philosophy, this menswear line suggests a modern and contemporary look.
The silhouette that appropriately harmonizes the masculinity and femininity as well as the materials also create a big axis of the brand.
BEYONDCLOSET: Beyond Closet is the designer brand which suggests brand-new classic style with hint of wit based on classic design.
GENERALIDEA : General idea is different and defined differently among people. My definition of general idea. Other people can consider my general idea as unimportant. Thus, general idea is considered as a meaningless paradox. Even though my general is only accepted by few only for them. We design for thousof you who think ‘General Idea’ general idea.
GROUNDWAVE: MODERN + MINIMALISM + ELEGANCE
JEHEE SHEEN: I want to talk about spiritual values of the fashion through Jeheesheen and would like to express humanity through the design. JeheeSheen is trying to express the true meanings of our human life.
JARDIN: Contemporary / Classic / Cool / Feminity / Rock / Street / Mood
LEYII: Play with the Experimental design and the proper balance. The design is progressed by cutting and draping the fabric without any rules or limitation, and playing the unexpected shapes to make right proportion to develop new construction. This way can improve on not only the unique patterns but also the unimaginable details and silhouettes which move freely on the human body
steve j & yoni p : Contemporary womenswear label. Delicately balancing of the high-end casualwear (characteristic print pieces) and the stylish outer Collection has got a beautiful colour sense and humor
KAALESUKTAE : Modern contemporary brand that pursues structural avant-garde. Structural analysis on clothing and chic and elegant tailoring. Approached the street fashion and cultural sensitivity with handicraft method.
JAEHWANLEEPARIS: Angelicus* is a Latin word that means awesome, supernatural, not earthly, pure and perfect like an angel. The sensitivity of Designer Lee Jae Hwan added the meaning of the world ‘Angelicus’ to realize the fantasy of a woman that all women have been dreaming of since their childhood.
