Sangju, a city of bicycles, has the only bicycle museum in Korea.
The Sangju Bicycle Museum opened in October, 2002 in order to increase interest in and understanding of bicycles. It was moved to a larger building, located in Donam-dong, in October 2010.
In the temporary exhibition room located on the first floor, there are many different types of luxurious and distinctive types of bicycles and children’s bicycles from all over the world. There is also a 4D Theater. In the permanent exhibition room, located on the second floor, there are various types of bicycles that range from traditional bicycles to leisure bicycles and the latest models. Above all else, a bicycle experience room especially catches the interest of many children. The bicycle experience room connects children to an imaginary world through a video.
In summer, the museum is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. everyday except for Monday, and admission is free. You can also borrow bicycles for free. You can borrow children’s bicycles or tandems and safely ride on a 500-meter road near the museum.
