What’s your choice for your “second TV”?

Mr. Kim recently has much difficulty in deciding a second TV for a cubbyhole in his house. There’s a long list of TV brands and types out there. More confusingly, a TV-type monitor recently joined the competition.

After a thorough comparative analysis, Kim decided to choose a TV-type monitor, a multi-functional monitor with TV tuner.

According to the home appliances industry, the monitors with TV tuner have recently received much interest among customers who want to have a second TV for their house. Another contributing factor behind the success is that most of the electronics manufacturers have produced only one or two TV models with smaller than 30-inch screens to balance the budget.

LG Electronics says, “We can see a clear upward curve in the sales of TV monitor. The compatibility and scalability of the products can be pointed out as one of the most contributing factors to the popularity. In addition, the TV monitors show remarkable clear pictures for its price. The price range is 600, 000 won and 800,000 won for 22-inch and 26-inch LCD TV models respectively, which are similar as the ones of LED TV models equipped with the 3 dimensional screens.

Someone in the know says, “Small- and medium-size TV monitors are popular to be used as a second monitor, as well as among singles. Only a TV monitor serves both as TV and computer screen at the same time, so it solves lack-of-space problems of those living in a studio apartment.
