Cowon Systems announced on December 8 that it has launched its first black box specially designed for vehicles, the Auto Capsule.
The Auto Capsule makes it possible to record a high-definition video image covering a 150-degree viewing angle.
The three-axis acceleration sensor allows the black box to recognize even a slight impact and to automatically save the related video image of 30 seconds in total duration, or 15 seconds before and after the shock. In addition, when you’re parking, it automatically records the relevant image when any external movements are recognized.
All of the functions are controlled with a single button, which significantly improves convenience. The smart camera, which can rotate a full 360 degrees, makes it possible to cover any part of a scene.
President Park Nam Gyu of Cowon says, “We have built on our accumulated know-how of portable multimedia devices to launched a new premium black box. We’re planning to move aggressively into the market through differentiated strategies based on our advanced technology, design, and nationwide service network.”
