I write to praise the iPad; not to rave about it. Well, all right, I might rave a little bit about it. When you meet the iPad in person, the first striking thing about it is its display. Its 9.7-inch screen, measured diagonally, is arresting. It’s so arresting, you may pause to admire it for a second or two before mustering the gumption to touch it. The screen, which has a resolution of 1,024 by 768 pixels at 132 pixels per inch, can be viewed from a variety of angles without the image loss and color degradation seen in laptop displays and desktop monitors.
