Plastic future

Customers look at engineering plastic products used in various auto parts that were unveiled by Cheil Industries at 2012 Chinaplas in Shanghai yesterday.

Cheil Industries, a textile and chemical subsidiary of Samsung, declared to make inroads into overseas markets by introducing a range of engineering plastic products under the slogan of “providing an innovative way for tomorrow.” It also revealed shock-resistant polycarbonate and highly transparent ABS and ASA that can endure changes in climate. At the fair, Cheil put on display post-consumer materials (PCM) that help reduce carbon dioxide, part of in its eco-friendly product line. Chinaplas is one of the three largest international plastic fairs along with the K-Fair in Germany and NPE in the United States. Around 2,600 companies from 35 countries are expected to attend the event, which runs from tomorrow to Monday.
