Africa TV has attracted a lot of attention during the London Olympics by providing such content as real-time notification service, VOD review service, the highlights of the Olympics, and reports from London. One of the reasons that it has become popular during the Olympics is because it has strengthened its position as a sports TV platform by broadcasting such domestic and overseas sports games as professional baseball games, the popular baseball player Lee Dae Ho’s games, the K League games, and UFC.
As a result, the mobile application of Africa TV ranked fifth on Google Play immediately with the opening of the London Olympics, up from the thirtieth position, with the number of its visitors exceeding 1.1 million. The number is nearly 400 percent higher than it was at the same time last year and twenty percent higher than it was just before the opening of the Olympics.
Ahn Jun Su, the Head of Operations of Africa TV, says, “This is because we’ve focused on the stability of the mobile application service of Africa TV and on user convenience. In response to the current trend of switching from PCs to mobile devices, we’ll constantly develop new content.”
