Hallyu Star Jang Keun Suk does it once again by claiming the number 1 spot on Oricon weekly chart for his debut Japanese album “Just Crazy”. The album secured this spot with 130,000 copies preorder sales and an accumulated total sales of 88,000 copies between May 30 and June 4.
Previously last year Jang Keun Suk had secured #1 in Oricon daily and weekly chart for his Japanese single “Let Me Cry”. He broke many records as this was a rare experience in J Pop World to see a foreign male artist to hit the #1spot with his very first single.
And amazingly Jang Keun Suk created history once again with Just Crazy ranking!
Here are some of the records which Asia Prince created today,
- Jang Keun Suk became the first male solo artist whose debut album topped the Oricon Weekly Album Chart in 8 years since 2004 after Japanese artist Naotaro Moriyama.
- Korean actor and singer Jang Keun Suk’s first album “Just Crazy” got a #1 ranking in Oricon Weekly Album Chart and he is the first foreign male solo artist for the achievement.
- He set another record of becoming the first solo artist in 17 years and four months to have both single and full-track albums sit atop the two charts.
- The next highest-ranking overseas solo artists are American musician Skatman John and K-pop artist K, who concurrently sat at the second spot on both charts in 1995 and 2006, respectively.
Hallyu star Jang Keun Suk on his success, “I feel great!! I’m really happy. I’ll visit Japan, so please look forward to it!!”
