Kang Ji Hwan transforms into a fashion terrorist?

Actor Kang Ji Hwan recently said that he thought the movie Detective Cha would make it hard for him to appear in commercials.

On May 22, a press conference for the comedy Detective Cha (directed by Shin Tae Ra, produced by Hong film production firm) was held at CGV in Seoul.

Kang transformed into a fashion terrorist in the movie. He said, “I was really worried because I thought the movie would make it hard for me to appear in commercials. Since I played the role of a fat dirty man named Cha Chul Soo, I thought I wouldn’t be able to work as a representative for a cosmetic brand. But the director promised me that the character will ultimately be changed into a handsome man. So I believed him and did my best.”

He added, “The most difficult thing for me was gaining and losing weight while shooting the movie.”

The movie is a comedy movie about a fat and smelly detective named Cha Chul Soo (played by Kang) and a fashion designer named Go Young Jae (played by Sung Yoo Ri). The detective will transform into a handsome model with the designer’s help and infiltrate a runway show. Director Shin Tae Ra, who made the movie 7th Grade Civil Servant, and three flower boy models, Lee Soo Hyuk, Kim Young Kwang, and Shin Min Chul worked with Kang. The movie will be released on May 31.
