AJ of U-Kiss recently announced that he will be leaving the team for a while in order to pursue his university education. The idol star recently got admitted to Columbia University, one of the most prestigious universities in the world.

U-Kiss’s agnecy, NH Media, stated on July 29, “We previously announced AJ has gotten admitted to Columbia University. This means AJ will be leaving the team for a while for to study in the U.S. The concert in Japan this month will be his last activity with the team.”

The agency added, “This leave of absence doesn’t mean that he’s leaving the team permanently. He will be staying in the U.S. for five month for his educational career and he is planning to come back the team early next year. He should be active in Korea, but he has to enter the school just after the team finishes its promotion in Japan. We’d like to say sorry on behalf of AJ for his not being able to be active in Korea for the time being. Although he won’t be on the team again until next year, please keep sending him love and support while he’s away.”

Having debuted in 2008 as a member of the group Paran, AJ, currently in U-Kiss, is reported to have studied hard despite his hectic schedule and has succeeded in getting into a top university.
