Samsung Electronics recently released the Slate PC–a high performance tablet with the power of a laptop computer.
On the 9th, Samsung Electronics announced the release of the Slate PC (model: Samsung Slate PC series 7) a high performance tablet with the MS Windows 7 operation system.
Even though it looks like a 11.6 inch tablet PC, it has Windows 7 rather than the Android operation system. People can read e-books, surf the internet, download applications, and work on documents by touching.
It also includes a delicate and soft pen for the PC.
The product can be used like a laptop computer at home or in the office. A docking station and bluetooth keyboard are also included. An Intel Core i5 CPU,4GB memory, and a 64GB SSD (Solid State Drive) are also added.
It takes roughly 15 seconds to boot and it takes only 2 seconds to change from sleep mode to working mode.
It can’t, however, use the 3G wireless network like Galaxy Tab and i Pad. The launching price in Korea is 1.79 million won.
Nam Sung Woo, vice president for Samsung Electronics IT Solution Division, says, “The Slate PC has the best of both tablets and laptop PCs. It is an innovative product to open a new prospect in the PC market.”
