Seminar for WordPress users to be held on May 26

WordCamp Seoul 2012 will be held in Korea for users of the open-source content-management system (CMS) WordPress.

WordPress said that the conference will be held on May 16 at the Microsoft conference room in Daechi-dong, Seoul. WordCamp is the WordPress Foundation’s official conference for WordPress users. They share their know-how and ideas with designers and developers.

The conference talks about the current status of WordPress, with examples of site construction, plug-ins, and developing themes, and also examples of how to use BuddyPress. There will be a WordPress Genius Bar at the conference so that the participants can solve their problems by talking to experts. Kim Il Woo, a director at Korea.com, will speak at the conference and people from the WordPress Foundation will also attend and give presentations.

Kang Deok Soo, organizer for the WordPress Foundation in Seoul, says, “WordPress is an open-source CMS, so it can be used to easily construct personal blogs or websites for companies. It is optimized for search engines and connects well with social networks through BuddyPress.”

According to Kang, Samsung and LG built their brand sites using WordPress. The city of Seoul recently switched to WordPress for its official website, which attracted a lot more attention to the open-source CMS.

The official website for the conference (http://2012.seoul.wordcamp.org) gives details. You can apply for the conference through Onoffmix (http://onoffmix.com/event/6957). It is a paid seminar.
