Seoul, Korea – NCSoft’s Dragonica underwent its first update on the 8th. The update adds new combat content, the Battle Square System.
The system puts users in a game mode to compete against each other, where two teams begin from opposing ends of the map and race to collect the most points to win within a designated period of time.
To gain points, the players must hit monsters and collect Tokens of the Valiant from rare monsters and neutralize members of the opposing team. Users can choose to focus on one or all of the goals, depending on their style of play.
Battle Square has its merits in that while other RPG field battles occur frequently between users, the system designates a time period for the contest, adding to the thrill with great gains of experience.
NCSoft’s Operations Team 2 Manager Shin Min Kyun explained “The Battle Square System goes beyond just hunting, mob-hunting, and standard PvP. We expect it to be well accepted by our users. We will continue to introduce new content and tweak the game so users get more out of it.”
Further details on Dragonica’s OBT gameplay can be found on the official website.
