Seoul, Korea – NCsoft’s Guildwars MMO storyline is to to be released as a novel in print form.
Ghosts of Ascalon, written by acclaimed fantasy actors Matt Forbeck and Jeff GrubbAscalon, will bridge the 250-year gap between the storyline of the original Guild Wars and that of the upcoming Guild Wars 2. The original Guild Wars was developed by ArenaNet, NCsoft’s North American subsidiary, and sold six million copies worldwide.
Ghosts of Ascalon takes place roughly one year before Guild Wars 2 and deals with the what led to the provisional peace between the humans and the charrs. Also, a new race, unexpected alliances, and a darkness that threatens the land of Tyria are all in this new novel.
The novel will be available beginning July 27 in online bookstores in North America and Europe.
